I don't think that I have ever had such a wonderful hotel stay as I did at Palacio del Inka (whether at similarly rated/presented hotels, or otherwise). The hotel is in a historic former palace on old Cusco's main plaza, so in terms of location and feel, you can't have it beat. What sets the Palacio del Inka apart from other places I've stayed is the clear pride the employees take in working at the Palacio. This translated to every aspect of their service and support over the course of a 5-day stay. There were so many times when the staff went the extra mile in a thoughtful way (both for all guests and specifically with my group) that it really impressed both my spouse and I. I want to especially call out Daniel P. from the concierge's desk as our MVP and personal hero: we ended up throwing about 3 situations at him over the course of our stay and he was always a reliable, professional rock who was able to steer us right or make things right, as needed. In the last situation, I bought a jumbo handmade stuffed alpaca from an Alpaca farm/textile manufacturer, and I worked with Daniel to ship it back home to us in the U.S. He handled contracting with the local FedEx agent to get the alpaca boxed, held until we got back home, and shipped. Everything went well until the alpaca went through customs in Lima and tiny coca leaf fragments were found in the fiberfill stuffing! Apparently the default to this kind of situation is incineration, but Daniel worked with the FedEx agent to explain local cultural practices to customs (everyone in Cusco drinks coca tea, but traditional craftsmen apparently chew coca leaves while weaving, etc.) and advocate for the stuffed animal to be destuffed and not incinerated. With Daniel's help, not only were my husband and I able to have a wonderful visit to Peru, but we were able to bring home all of our memories and mementos (even the de-stuffed alpaca).

This property is a beautiful mix of history, art and luxury. There were tour of the property, mixology classes, a wonderful iberico jam and cheese cellar, the breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were decadent, and the rooms perfect for a good night of rest. The artisans chosen to display their goods were friendly and had a great selection, and the baby alpaca was a delightful surprise. We also needed the assistance of the concierge with some luggage issues, and they were exceptional in helping us with this issue, as well as helping us choose quality tours. Fantastic experience - I don’t have enough words to recommend this hotel and this team for the valuable experience. It is also very central and a short walk from all shops and restaurants.

Everything was amazing. We were upgraded to a better room, given early check-in, late check-out, and extra time in the thermal circuit for the spa. I got the Inti Killa spa treatment for my mother as a birthday gift. I mentioned it was her birthday and they had an entire cake with her name on it waiting for us when we finished our treatment! Luz and Maira did a spectacular job with the massages, we were so relaxed afterward. The perfect way to unwind after hiking and visiting Machu Picchu. The baby llama that roamed the hotel grounds was absolutely adorable. The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to cater to us. I would absolutely stay here again!

The hotel was gorgeous. The historic aspects were wonderful. We were upgraded to a suite which was spectacular and comfortable. The buffet breakfast is generous and delicious. We also went to the spa for the water circuit and massage treatments and it was relaxing and a great experience. We also received upgrade/ bonus at the spa. The ladies at the spa are kind and helpful and the service was fantastic. We took advantage and joined the hotel historical tour part way through. We also loved the pisco sour class and Darwin was great. We had arrived at this luxury hotel after a 4 day Inca trek and it was everything we hoped for and more.

The breakfast was fabulous…absolutely delicious with everything you could want for breakfast. My suite was so wonderful. My room was so quiet. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. I didn’t want to leave my room. The cable tv had several channels in English which was really nice. I don’t have a tv at home so it was nice to watch some movies and the home renovation channel which I love but rarely get to watch.
